    Hi there,
I’m looking to create a site with resources for WordPress users as reviews of hosting sites with dedicated plans for WordPress, review of commercial themes and plugins, latest news and tips.
I’m wondering whether the use of “word-press” in a domain name is legit or not.
    Thanks!

It is not. Please don’t use trademarked terms in your domain names.

FYI, trying to ‘get around’ a ruling (word-press vs WordPress) is generally seen as an intentional trademark violation, and lawyers will easily win that case :/ Don’t try to be clever about trademarks. It’s like playing with electricity. Just don’t.

Ok, can you just confirm that anything with WP inside a domain is acceptable and there are no trademark violation risks?

    Something like…
    wp-ideas.xyz
    wp-resources.xyz
    wp-sites.xyz
    is ok?

    Thanks for your prompt reply!

The referenced page says “The abbreviation ā€œWPā€ is not covered by the WordPress trademarks and you are free to use it in any way you see fit.”
